November 27: Arrive in Johannesburg

On arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met by African Travel's VIP Representative, who will assist you with customs formalities, help you collect your luggage and through to the Arrivals Hall.

As you enter the Arrivals Hall, look for a representative from our South Aftican partner, Thompsons Africa, holding a sign with your name on it. Should you need any additional services such as exchanging currency or cell phone rental, our representative will be able to assist. You will receive your tour documents and transferred to your reserved hotel.

November 28: Johannesburg/Victoria Falls

Following breakfast, you will travel by hotel shuttle to the airport for your scheduled flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge accommodations. 

Late in the afternoon you will be transferred to the Zambezi River above the Falls for the "sundowner" cruise. Livingstone first wrote about this "Crimson Heart of Africa bleeding over the Kandahar Rapids" and sunset on the Zambezi has captivated travelers ever since. 

The Zambezi Explorer is a modern, luxury solar powered catamaran. Enjoy the best of the river in comfort and style while witnessing the abundant wildlife. 

The two lower decks provide a 5-star luxury service where guests can choose from an exciting range of beverages and cocktails as well as a selection of delicious snacks. On the third level is the "Signature Deck" with gourmet hors d'oeuvres and a wide range of premium beverages served from a private bar. Guests can relax in the comfort of the deep set couches and enjoy the extravagance of VIP service.

At the end of the day, the Zambezi Explorer sails upstream to celebrate the setting African sun, the epitome of any travel to Victoria Falls. November 29: Victoria Falls

This morning you will be collected for your shared tour of The Falls. It's no surprise why Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! You'll understand it instantly as you tour the Zimbabwean side, observing the many spectacular vantage points along the width of the Falls. This astounding gift of nature simply takes your breath away. Listen to the thunderous noise, as millions of gallons of water surge over the Falls into a series of narrow gorges below. It is the most dramatic of shows and you'll be privileged to have seen it. 

Continue with an interactive visit to a local community, where you learn about the roles played by both men and women in this society. Visit a homestead, interact with the locals, and observe their daily lives and culture. 

There is a small curio cabinet here, filled with handcrafted items for sale, created by extended family members of this homestead. Make sure you have room in your bag, you won't want to leave empty-handed. 

This afternoon is at leisure for independent activities. 

November 30 (Victoria Falls/Johannesburg)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg where you are met and transferred to your overnight accommodations.
